Clarity & Purpose – a recap of 2015

This is our last sales blog for 2015,  our first blog for 2016 will be out the week of January 11th.

For our clients and the team at Barrett, 2015 has been the year of clarity and purpose with many of our clients being able to put in place sound sales strategies, sales operations frameworks and development programs to set up their sales teams for success in 2016 and beyond.

Not happy dealing with the status quo, these smart business leaders have been looking at how they can transition their sales teams and businesses from being:

  • product driven to ideas and solutions driven
  • individualistic selling to team based selling
  • general supplier to generative supplier
  • distribution to contribution
  • consumable to renewable
  • courteous and compliant to creative and innovative
  • competitive to collaborative
  • transactions to partnerships

Many sales leaders have engaged and included non sales executive leadership in the development of their sales strategies knowing that without their buy-in and involvement they are less likely to succeed. Quoting our head of learning and development, Jens Hartmann, ‘You need to sweep the staircase from the top’.

It has been with great joy and satisfaction that we have been able to partner with our clients to help their people and businesses sell better. We and they are seeing the fruits of our collective labour and we look forward to creating more opportunities for success in 2016.

That being said we want to wish you all a safe and peaceful holiday season.

Wishing you a joyful and prosperous 2016,

The Team at Barrett
