Barrett's articles are reaching an ever growing audience to much acclaim and in 2011 we will be launching the Sell Like A Woman research and accompanying book.

Stretching our minds for dementia

Barrett Consulting Group was invited to join a selection of Melbourne's 'best and brightest' on 29 November to tackle the dementia challenge at Alzheimer's Australia Vic's Think Tank to kick-start their future planning process. Our Director of Sales, John Garrido represented Barrett at the think tank.

What we learned was that Dementia is currently the third largest cause of death of Australians and in Victoria there are 66,000 people living with dementia. This is set to double by 2020. With the numbers of families and carers involved and the infrastructure that will be required the planning needed to start now.

"I was honoured to be included in this important process, the outcomes of which will impact on all our lives." John Garrido said. "With more than 50 participants from all walks of life involved, the genuine contribution by the Think Tank participants was inspirational and greatly appreciated," Maree McCabe, Chief Executive Officer, Alzheimer's Australia Vic said. "We consider Barrett Consulting vital to this discussion as their staff have demonstrated genuine interest in helping us help others living with dementia."

This is just the beginning of our plans to galvanise the community and governments to act now for world class dementia care for us all in the future.

Team news

A former client has joined our business in recent months as our Director of Sales. John Garrido was Sales Director of MyCarrer.com.au when he contacted Barrett consulting to provide assistance to his fast growing team and we worked with his team over the course of about 18 months. John has had a solid career in sales and sales leadership, managing multi-million dollar budgets and very large and diverse sales teams. Regarded by Barrett as an evolved Sales Leader, John clearly possessed a high level of self-awareness and was on a continuous journey of sales mastery. As a Sales Leader, John had a high focus on developing the knowledge, skills and insights of his team and in particular his leadership team. John was a natural fit for our business that is all about mastery in 21st Century sales culture, capabilities and campaigns and also supports the philosophy that 'Everybody lives by selling something'. His focus at Barrett will be the growth of our business as we work towards achieving our vision of positively transforming the way Sales Mastery is selected for, taught, developed, measured and managed in 50,000 organisations by 2020.

Client Story

We received a call recently from a former course participant who attended our Overcoming Call Reluctance workshop 15 years ago. He is now a General Manager of an international business and wanted us to work with his international sales team. He said the what he had learnt those 15 years ago has stayed with him and was some of the best training he had ever received despite it being a challenge to him at the time. Thanks Murray, its great to work with you again.
