Latest news: New Survey

Barrett is the first consultancy to ask the question: Should selling be studied at University?

We believe it's time for 'Selling' to step out under the shadow of Marketing and MBA's to have its own degree status. Recently Sue Barrett was invited to speak at the Melbourne Business School's MBA Entrpreneurs program on the topic of Selling. While selling strategies have been around for years the actual function of being a sales person and sales leader have been poorly regarded and understood, however in recent years there has been a growing body shining light on sales as a complex and skilful profession with most of the academic work emanating from overseas. At last count there are 42 universities in the US with graduate and undergraduate sales courses on their curriculum. There are certainly no Degrees in Selling in Australia. We would like your opinion on this important topic, please take 3 minutes to complete our survey and pass on to anyone you think would be interested in this topic:

Upcoming conferences

Sue Barrett will be speaking at an AMCHAM Melbourne breakfast event on May 12th on the topic of "Sell Like a Woman. It is the culmination of research into what characteristics and behaviours have made several of Australia's leading female business leaders and sales professionals so successful. Sue has been conducting the research over a number of years and will be launching the "Sell Like a Woman" book later in 2011.
